Loading... Please wait...This hand carved piece and many others come from Wayan Murdi who works primarily with rain tree or as it is called in Bali, suar wood. He began carving on his own in 1985; in Bali family skills are often transmitted, from father to son. Because of this he has always wanted to follow the path of his own father and hopes his two sons will also appreciate the art so the legacy can continue. He worked with his father until he had enough money to open his own workshop; and there are now 15 people working with him from his village of Mas. Asian culture inspires his artwork.
